The Ahwatukee Foothills and Golf Club is a terrific family friendly neighborhood that is surrounded by South Mountain Park. Some have called it “the world’s largest cul-de-sac” because of its isolation from the city, yet convenient and desirable location.
The Foothills Golf Club is a par 72 Championship, lins-style course, designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish. The course stretches to almost 7,000 yards with lush rolling fairways, blue lakes and 65 bunkers set against rocky desert terrain. This club appeals to all skill levels and has earned a 4 star ranking from Golf Digest and is one of Phoenix’s top golf courses.
There is never a shortage of activities to do the Ahwatukee Foothills. If getting outdoors is your preference, you will not be disappointed. Outside your door is miles for trails for hiking, cycling, running, or horseback riding. Take your family to one of the 8 parks in the area for basketball, baseball, soccer and playgrounds. In addition, there is the Ahwatukee Community Swim and Tennis Center, and the Ahwatukee Recreation Center.
Although Ahwatukee feels like its secluded in shadow of nearby South Mountain, it is actually within minutes of all the shopping, dining and entertainment Phoenix has to offer. Chase Field and Downtown Phoenix is a 20- minute drive, Arizona Mills Mall is 10 minutes away, Tempe Marketplace is a short drive. Wild Horse Pass Resort and Casino, Rawhide and Big Surf waterpark are all within 15- minute drive. With the 1-10 just few miles away, it is convenient to get anywhere you want to go in the Valley.
